Two April Concerts!

YDS is springing into action this spring with two concerts coming up very soon!

The first one is a full orchestra concert in Skerries, on Sunday. And the following day, on the Monday evening, the junior section of the orchestra will be performing with a visiting orchestra from Rhode Island, USA.


1. Sunday 14th April, Skerries 4pm

The concert will be at 4pm in St Patrick's church. The rehearsal starts at 12.30. The dress code is black. The program will be Shut up and Dance, arr. Moore, Symphony no. 5, arr, Hoffmann, Hungarian Rhapsody no. 2, arr. Hoffman, Peat Dance, Trad,

Gradients for String Orchestra- Kevin Poelking and Tjønneblomen (arr. Danish String Quartet), Little suite, Carl Nielsen, and Swamp Thang, by Richard Meyer. After the concert, we will walk up to the sailing club for a pizza party. There will be a €5 contribution per person to cover the pizza and sailing club.


2. Monday 15th April, 7pm

The North Kingstown High School choir and orchestra is coming to Dublin all the way from Rhode Island in the USA. We are very excited to welcome them, and to perform together. The concert will begin at 7pm but the rehearsal will be at 5.30. The venue is St Andrews church, on Westland Row, in Dublin. the dress code is black. The YDS part of the program for the evening will be Symphony no. 5, Hungarian Rhapsody no. 2, by Brahms, Peat Dance, A Time for Us, Shut up and Dance La Folia, by Corelli. An extra piece will be added to the repertoire for the evening, Palladio by Karl Jenkins, which will be played by everyone.


Hopefully you can bring lots of friends and family for these two concerts.
