YDS at the Bleeding Pig Cultural Festival

Updated: Sep 7, 2023

As part of the yearly September festival in Donabate, North Country Dublin, the Young Dublin Symphonia Orchestra will be performing a concert on the 15th September. The highlight of the concert will be the world premiere of a very special piece, composed the wonderful Meghan Churcher, who will also be performing. The piece is called Autumn Winds, and was written specially for the orchestra.

The Bleeding Pig is a great cultural festival in Donabate, which brings together different cultural groups. It will run rom the 7th to the 17th September The YDS concert will take place in at St. Patricks R. C. Church (post code K36 XE35), at 7:30 pm, and is sponsored by the Progressive Credit Union.

The rehearsal or the junior orchestra will be between 5.00 and 6.00 pm, and the rehearsal for the senior orchestra will be between 6.00 and 6.45. At 6.30 there will be refreshments in parish hall across the road from church (players are reminded to take a snack for the break before concert)

The YDS has performed at the festival before, and it was a wonderful evening. This concert will be the first performance for YDS after the summer break, and it will be lovely for the players to catch up. The Bleeding Pig concert promises to be a fantastic evening of music.
